In this month’s
feature, we are proud to provide more information about The
Learning Safari's new program Diversity Detectives.
The Learning Safari is a non-profit
organization housed at Leesburg Animal Park. It has been bringing
live animal education programs to schools, childcare centers,
camps and many other sites for almost 15 years. For more information,
click on the link to the right.
Presented as a “reality”
game show, our brand new assembly Diversity Detectives explores
the vast variety of species on earth. It reinforces the fact
that preserving biodiversity is at the root of all wildlife
and habitat conservation efforts. Audience volunteers will
be contestants in a bid to be designated A.C.E. (Animal Classification
Expert) detectives.
The Learning Safari is in the
process of reformatting all of its program into interactive
multi-media events. Students play key parts in these experiential
lessons. And, beginning with Diversity Detectives, the supplemental
teacher packets are provided on interactive CD-ROMs.
